Superpesante is a furniture experiment made of concrete. It is being exhibited at the Italian Cultural Institute in Stockholm.
The Italian Cultural Institute is designed by Gio Ponti in the 1950s. The furnishings are also specially designed for the Institute by him. Placing something in this environment has its challenges. I find myself either to make something that harmonizes with the interior or something that is the opposite, a contrast.
Superpesante is born from the opposites of Gio Ponti’s design. Instead of the light, functional construction, Superpesante is heavy, raw, dug and molded from earth.
The project is documented in a film by Oskar Wrangö and will be displayed at the 54th Art Biennial in Venice, under the initiative “Venice Biennale in the World ". Music / Sound by: Marcus Wrangö
